The Tuesday Train and oy vey…….

It’s Monday. Need I say more?

It appears that I have come down with a serious case of Mondayitis. If you haven’t heard of this debilitating illness, let me explain.

Mondayitis strikes without warning, one minute you are drinking your coffee, contemplating your day and the next moment…. BAM! You feel an overwhelming desire to crawl back into your pjs, go back to bed and pull the covers over your head. The cry springs from your lips “No, No, No! You can’t make me! I don’t wanna do it! You can’t make me!”

You know as an adult that Mondays happen and that after enjoying a calm, serene weekend you will inevitably have to throw yourself headlong back into the rat race that is called “the work week”.  Inside though there is a five-year old desperately clinging to the last shreds of weekend before being forced back into….”the work week”.

I am sorry to say that there is only one cure for Mondayitis. It is called “Retirement”. A golden end to a rainbow that we all seek. Unfortunately this cure comes after hundreds of dreaded Mondays. Just remember that there will come a day when you can wake up, realise its Monday and roll back over to go to sleep.

Hoping that your Monday was free of Mondayitis…. now I’m getting in my pjs, before Tuesday shows up.
