The Tuesday Train and a new perspective

The old saying “you can never go home again” is true. No matter how hard you want to go home, it isn’t going to happen. I spent ten days with my mom, hanging out, visiting, seeing the sights and eating my favorite childhood meals.

I’m not saying that I didn’t have fun, I did. But what was brought home to me was that my mom and I were equals. Both adults with adult children and the problems that go along with them. That is the true meaning to the phrase “you can never go home again”, the fact that one day you wake up and your parents are adults just like you.

  1. Hi following you from the Hop and I agree it is hard to go home again. Not because I would not be welcomed with open atoms, its the husband and 2 children that makes it impossible to just be a kid again. Still when I do my mom still makes my favorite – peanut butter punch! Its the best.
